Ankit joined LTS in 2016 and is a highly dedicated, experienced and technically qualified energy professional, with core competencies in project management of decentralised clean technologies; renewable energy generation and distribution; research and data analysis of clean energy markets; energy policy; financial modelling of energy generation technologies; sustainability and climate change.
Ankit is driven to excel in diverse and challenging work environments and to contribute meaningfully towards enabling universal access to efficient and cleaner forms of energy. Here at LTSI, Ankit has undertaken assignments in the fields of bioenergy, climate finance and carbon markets and is the overall point person responsible for growing the energy access practice area within LTSI.
Prior to joining LTSI, Ankit completed his Masters in Sustainable Energy Systems (with distinction) at the University of Edinburgh. Previous to that, Ankit worked for close to three years on grassroots level deployment of solar and bioenergy technologies such as solar lighting systems, improved cookstoves, biogas plants, and solar water pumps. He specifically focused on innovative programmes aimed at bridging the energy access gap and as part of his previous organisation, Watershed Organization Trust, was involved in heading a National Level project in India on decentralising solar energy supply by localising the assembly, sale, and repair of portable solar lamps.
Ankit is a keen energy access practitioner with passion for advancing the goal of universal sustainable energy access. Alongside work interests, his personal interests cover trekking, cycling, yoga and slacklining.
