Climate Mitigation

A transition to carbon-neutral energy generation is essential due to climate change. Climate mitigation efforts reduce or prevent greenhouse gas emissions, for example by switching to new and low-carbon energy sources such as renewable energy, making older equipment more energy efficient, or changing management practices or consumer behaviour.

We practice and promote effective forest governance, creating new stocks of carbon in growing trees, and managing existing stocks of carbon in forests, trees and soils countries can take positive steps can be taken to mitigate climate change and improve livelihoods. We provide support to national governments to reducing greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere from deforestation and forest degradation, capture CO2 already in the atmosphere and promote the use of voluntary carbon credits and markets.
