Development interventions often need to deliver complex objectives in changing situations and management services to support all stages of the project cycle are often required.
For more than 30 years, LTS has successfully managed long-term projects and programmes, covering all aspects from administration to technical direction. We are recognised as providing high levels of support and backup to our in-country teams, including financial management, intellectual contributions, networking, and information and monitoring.
We pride ourselves in not being a body shop. Our use of in-house staff and freelance consultants on many long term and short term assignments has emphasised the importance of building a relationship between consultants, LTS and the client which enables the effective delivery.

- Identification and appraisal services - giving a clear and concise analysis of complex and changing institutional settings, issues and risks.
- Design, preparation and formulation services - analysing the development context and the root cause of the identified problem, assessing various intervention options, conducting risk and sustainability analysis of the intervention options, providing detailed implementation plans and identifying resource and cost requirements.
- Management services for implementation - staff skilled in project management but also experts in the technical subject area to provide strategic direction to each project. They are well supported by an experienced finance and administration team aligned to meet the client's specifications.
- Monitoring and evaluation services - generating feedback on continued relevance of interventions, development impact, and assimilating lessons and recommendations for future inputs.
With our head office in Edinburgh operating as the hub for our organisational and logistical support, we front each project with an in-house project manager who combines management skills with technical knowledge. Our quality assurance comes through involving dedicated LTS staff members where appropriate.
