Promoting Autonomous Adaptation at the Community Level



This project aimed to support local communities and administrations at the lowest level of government to design, plan and implement adaptation actions aimed at reducing vulnerability and building resilience.  It strengthened sub-national institutional capacities for climate-resilient planning and investment, supported the application of climate resilient technologies and practices and improved the use of local climate information for risk reduction, early warning and risk-financing.  LTS provided the lead consultant who had supported the project identification, design and project preparation processes including detailed activities, work plans and budgets. Specific services provided by LTS included:

  •  Project identification: supporting the EPA with initial project conceptual development and project identification. Preparation of project identification documents and applications for project preparation funding.
  •  Project design support during a 12 month project design phase, including stakeholder engagement and field assessment.
  •  Stakeholder engagement through a number of facilitated workshops and field based stakeholder interactions; interaction with potential co financiers.
  •  Preparing and supporting project baseline methodology and overseeing field work and baseline report preparation.
  •  Preparing final project documentation, including detailed activities, work plans and budgets.
