Evaluation of Biodiversity Conservation Training - Pacific Island States

This evaluation of a closed project was of Darwin Initiative project 8-009 that was implemented by the International Centre for Protected Landscapes (University of Wales Aberystwyth in conjunction with Pacific regional partners, the University for the South Pacific (USP) and the South Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP). Participants for the training course were selected from a range of Pacific Island states. The project succeeded in creating a valuable short-course supporting conservation activities in the Pacific Region. The final report and associated review notes that the distance learning component was not delivered during the project, but it must be noted that the project operated over a period which included major national disturbance through the 2000 political coup.
