Key services our specialist forestry experts provide include:
Sustainable forestry and carbon management for development… Our approach to forestry management is based on a practical understanding of the relationship between resources, their management, and the rural and social environment in which they exist. This means new forestry investments can be planned and developed within appropriate social as well as appropriate silvicultural contexts. We believe that by practising and promoting effective forest governance, creating new stocks of carbon in growing trees, and managing existing stocks of carbon in forests, trees and soils, positive steps can be taken to mitigate climate change and improve livelihoods. Working with forest resources, our mitigation team seeks to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere from deforestation and forest degradation, capture CO2 already in the atmosphere and promote the use of voluntary carbon credits and markets. In addition to sound technical knowledge, we can marshal relevant complementary expertise appropriate to commercial, public sector and civil society clients. Our understanding of sector wide approaches allows us to integrate forestry and carbon with biodiversity, water, livelihoods and other services, thus providing a balanced and inclusive forestry practice.
