Chris has over 15 years experience in a range of natural resource management and rural livelihood programmes. These have included long term protected area management and forest governance programmes in the role of programme manager and/or specialist advisor. Working on these programmes has enabled a wealth of experience to be developed in the implementation of community based natural resource projects at district, national and regional levels. He has extensive knowledge of participatory approaches to forestry interventions at national/community level and has practical experience in developing national strategic and community level plans for community based forestry. As well as a main focus on participatory forestry he has experience in programme Monitoring and Evaluation, institutional capacity building, forest policy & legal guidance and forest enterprise development. This work has required him to be an effective communicator and facilitator. Chris is currently a regional adviser in the LTS team which is supporting the EU-funded Improved Management for Sustainable Livelihoods Programme in Malawi.
